With the election in mind, this weekend was a massive weekend for Birmingham Conservative preparations as no less than 6 candidates were selected for Birmingham seats. A major piece of news was that Cllr Robert Alden - a regular at City Branch events including last weekend's BBQ - was the first candidate selected. He will be standing for the eminently winnable seat of Erdington where he lives and is already a councillor. Cllr Colin Hughes is another City Brancher who was selected today. Colin was chosen for the important seat of Ladywood which covers central Birmingham. The other choices were Jo Barker for Hall Green, William Norton for Perry Barr, Meirion Jenkins for Yardley and Shailesh Parekh for Hodge Hill. I am sure all candidates would love to hear from you if you think you can help with their campaigns in any way.
